Setup
Download the client and compare its SHA-256 with the value above. If it does not match, do not open the file; download again.
Install into a folder without spaces or special characters, for example C:\Games\LikyaMT2. Avoid the desktop and Program Files.
Open the launcher. It downloads missing or outdated files and checks their signature; do not start the game before it finishes.
Log in with your account name, password and PIN. Never share your PIN; staff will never ask for it.
Common errors
d3dx9_43.dll missing or DirectX error
The game needs DirectX 9 components that Windows 10/11 does not ship. Install DirectX End-User Runtime (June 2010) from Microsoft and restart.
Antivirus deletes files or the launcher will not open
Some antivirus tools flag game clients by mistake. Verify the SHA-256 first. If it matches, add the install folder to the antivirus exclusions.
"Client is outdated" warning
Start the game through the launcher, not metin2client.exe. If the launcher closed before finishing, reopen it as administrator and wait for the download to complete.
Cannot connect to the server
Check the notices first: weekly maintenance runs Thursday 06:00 to 07:30. Otherwise allow the launcher and client in Windows Firewall and turn off any VPN.
The game opens and closes right away
The install path may contain special characters or spaces. Move the folder to a path like C:\Games\LikyaMT2. If it persists, update your graphics driver.
Launcher version API
The launcher reads version data as JSON from /api/launcher/version: version, minimum launcher version, package size, SHA-256 and the file list address. The file list is signed with ed25519; a list with a bad signature is not applied.
